In the summer of 2008, Hope Haven's Director of Operations moved to Guatemala to live full time and operate a new wheelchair manufacturing facility.  Hope Haven is now employing wheelchair users and caretakers in this new shop.  People are learning new job skills and making a standard wage, so that they are now able to provide for their families and learn new trade skills.  This shop is specializing in manufacturing the KidChair - a chair that was designed in Northwest Iowa.
